FBC Week 14 thread: What the H'Ell Roberson is going on here?

Sports Journalists Forum – Media, Newsroom & Reporting Talk

Help Support Sports Journalists Forum:

Par for the course with CBS and the SEC, huh?

Actually I'm only surprised it's not Gary Danielson trying to drink some.

He's drunk enough of the sweet stuff this year. Thankfully, his season is over.

Houston Nutt circa 2006-07: What does Gus Malzahn know about calling plays? Give me David Lee!

Looks like ratings suckage for the NC game.

How do you figure?

Two great offenses. Two defenses that are OK but nothing that special. A lot of points figure to be scored.

From where I sit, your Conference USA winner? Southern Miss.

They get to go to St. Petersburg for their bowl. They'll get it over with before Christmas and they're the only game on that day, so they'll get their share of curiosity views (and those viewers will see a pretty entertaining offensive football team).

UCF, a pretty boring team, has to go to Memphis to play on New Year's Eve (quite possibly against Tennessee) when there are three other games going on at the same time.

Nothing says more about how craptastic C-USA is than the fact that their champion goes to a bowl game in Memphis.

100% of CUSA teams would rather say they beat the tenth place SEC team than the 4th or 5th place Big East team.

In most cases I'd agree. But if Southern gets Louisville in the Beef Stew Bowl, as a lot of people expect, there will be no shortage of motivation on either side. Back when they used to play on a regular basis, USM and UL absolutely hated each other's guts.

That's about as ****ty of an attempt by OU's #20, to make a tackle, as you could hope to see in all of college football.
He just ran alongside the Nebraska ballcarrier and didn't even dive at him.
Awful effort ... almost looked staged.

Pac-10 still looking for that fourth bowl-eligible team as UW leads 14-7 at halftime of the Apple Cup.

Huskies have dominated the first half, but Tuel throws a TD pass just before halftime to put Wazzu back in the game.

With any due respect, I disagree.
Folks should love this game, whether in person or watching on TV.
They are playing at a high level, there are several blue-chippers on the field, and it's excellent that it's being played outside.
The Big 12 and SEC games were so seemingly homogenized with the indoor crap.
Love seeing it outdoors and this ACC game's getting more and more interesting.

And Tracy Wolfson reminds me of Pocahontas in that clip.

And we have a winner in the "Lamest Halftime Contest!" Come on down, ACC!

Game doesn't mean anything outside of SoCal this year, but a brawl between 50 to 75 people at the Rose Bowl resulted in two people hospitalized with stab wounds. Three being held.

Go Bruins. F the Trojans.

OU and Nebraska deadlocked at 20, late in third Q, but you already knew that.
