I guarantee you if you had a daughter and someone said she was being "pimped out" you would not think it's a "general comment." It's wrong. Shuster is a highly paid journalist. He should be able to make his point without resorting to phrases like that.

MSNBC really needs to clean up its act. As all cable news nets do. But Chelsea is not 13 anymore and she is campaigning for her mom. It's her choice. I think Shuster's analysis was wrong (not the first time) and lacking in professionalism (again, not the first time), but worse things have been said on MSNBC without suspensions. Another case of NBC covering its ass. THis is NBC 2.0.
The Clintons can't have it both ways, protecting their daughter from the press while using her in the campaign and then acting shocked if anyone says anything demeaning about their adult daughter.
Romney's kids caught flak for not fighting in the Iraq War
Cheney's daughter caught flak for being gay and being Republican
Bush's kids caught flak for getting their drink on

Not from MSNBC, they didn't.
And not as crudely and stupidly as was done here.

What Shuster said is metaphorically correct, the Clintons do, in effect, push their daughter on strangers for purposes of illiciting a response from them. This spoiled child, who has no discernible opinion on any subject, is used as a prop to feed Hillary's ego and ambition. She's using another person for her own gain, she's pimping her daughter.

Here's the thing. Shuster is ostensibly a "journalist." And/or an "analyst." This turn of phrase was way out of bounds on either side of the aisle in either of those roles.

(If, however, 'yab as a political operative is malign enough to use the same phrase in his next anthrax letter, that's his right. And he will enjoy or suffer whatever consequences come his way for that opinion and that language.)

But as a "journalist?" No.

It was the suckingest-off interview I've seen on a legit news channel (and that includes FOX, btw) in years. The "interview" consisted of the two of them praising each others' work. I had no idea. Shuster always struck me as a regular, workhorse journo-type with no particular allegiances.

David, can ya go ahead and just go to FOX and get it over with?

Agree Shuster was out of line in his selection of words, but HRC still loves to point fingers, when it suits her -- and hide behind Bill, when it's strategically prudent.
