18 minutes each way.

And I sometimes miss the days when I interned and commuted 45 miles each way. Gave me time to turn up the tunes and unwind.

That used to tide me over while fighting the city traffic. Now nothing helps.

Used to be 42 miles (90 minutes or longer going, 45 minutes coming back) on 5 freeways. Now, 7 miles (10-15 minutes). But the change resulted in a serious boost to my mortgage payment.

Takes Mrs. tbf about 35 minutes on a bunch of podunk backroads. Takes me about 20, depending on how backed up traffic at the gate is.

I ride my bike to a ferry, take the ferry across the river and ride my bike to the office. It all takes 40 minutes or so, but I love my commute.

Depending on where I worked in the greater Portland, Ore., area, mine was anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes every soul-crushing day -- and longer on Fridays, when I had to go to the office for payday. I had anger issues.

Mine is 47 miles of rural highway, or 54 minutes of listening to XM radio (depending on if I get caught at that damn light they installed). It helps me leave the office at the office most of the time.

Two jobs.

One is about five minutes or a mile's walk from my current digs.
Other is an hour without traffic, about 1:20 going to work (and with the rush-hour traffic).

Had one office that was a half-mile walk from my then-apartment. That wasn't the only reason I was there all too often, but it was a contributing factor.

I pay for a parking space, but it's in a garage. I only use it probably 10 days a year, though, if there's no street parking on the street directly around the building or if it's going to snow or ice.

Otherwise, street parking. $20 a paycheck to use it 10 days. Goddammit.

I'm starting a new job in two weeks, and the commute from my home is about 50 miles -- approximately 65 minutes one way in actual driving time.

Just wanted to see what types of commutes people have.

You're not going to live there?

Anyhoo, I have a 5-minute commute when Jersey traffic ain't being a bizzo across Route 1 that is under construction galore.
