I just can't see Pitt staying within 17 points of Notre Dame. I'm also not sure I care since the real prize is making the ACC Championship.

A quick and dirty count just now shows 59 teams with six or more wins and another 19 sitting on five against 76 bowl slots. A couple of the five-win teams won’t make it but figure a similar number of four-win outfits will get to the Mendoza line. So no backdoor into the bowls for Missouri State, Delaware or losing teams.

Also, the Georgia hesitancy is real. You mean if we go 11-1, we get to skip the SEC Championship and still possibly get a Playoff bye? Yeah I'm good on missing Atlanta.

In 1986, a friend of mine and I went to the local hardware store, bought a 4x4 redwood post, stopped at a trophy shop and bought a plastic football capper, and built a trophy for the Sun Belt Football League fantasy league champion. My wife's on there four times. (She was the Vince Lombardi of the league.)

It's a little dusty, but it's been sitting in the basement for 20-plus years.

To be honest, I think mine looks better.

Kentucky State, which is ranked No. 6 in its region, was scheduled to go to Delta State which is No. 7, for what likely would have amounted to a play-in game for the Division II playoffs. Instead, Kentucky State exercised a clause in the contract that allowed them to play the third-place team from Conference Carolinas.
Kentucky State is not playing the third-place team from Conference Carolinas. They're playing Shorter, which is 2-8 and in sixth place in that league, and apparently are being quite dodgy about why they're doing it.
Delta State's coach is not pleased.

That’s the really bad thing about CBS getting some Big 10 games.
As good as Oregon-Iowa was last week, this weeks’ matchup is disastrous.

That would be Todd Cooley from Nashville, Arkansas, a QB that gave some teams I covered heartburn way back in the day.

Oh man, in my fervor to get away from newspapers, I once started to apply for an SID-type job at an Assemblies of God university.

The questions in the online application included things like, "Have you ever had a drink with alcohol in it?" and if the answer was yes, it took you to a screen that said something about how you are ineligible to be hired.

I became friends with the guy who was eventually hired for that job. He drinks like a fish and worked summers during college as a beer man at Kauffman Stadium.
