And the announcers are worthy — the sideline reporter told me one of the rice kids went to tcu games and watched Ladainian Tomlinson, who last played there in 2000, and then I learned Killeen is right down the road from the metroplex and not nearly 200 miles away

Also, Rice just "Stopped the momentum" by Texas State when it kicked a 28-yard field goal with 5:38 remaining to make it a 41-10 game.

Gambling is remarkably easy and accessible now; millions more people are gambling; gamblers will bet on anything, and watch anything they have their money on.

I make no value judgments. But the more people gamble, the more they watch what they're betting on.

Plus, if there is awful winter weather anywhere, it drives up the ratings because people are home-bound.

Since there isn't a portal thread yet I'll stick this here. Points for having fun on the socials, disrupting the relentless returnees/leaving players post flowing through my XPro(formally tweetdeck).

Cincinnati says if you can’t beat em, join em. Bearcats put in a running QB, use a lengthy drive to tie Navy in a Liberty Bowl I’m sure you all are watching! ;)

Michigan State has lost 40 players to the transfer portal. Jerry Seinfeld was right. You root for the uniforms
If you believe social media, 90 percent of teams are in the same boat. There's already like 3,000 kids in the portal.

There were posts that had Iowa State and North Texas with less than 20 on their roster. Several guys on teams that advanced in the playoff announced.

A kid for Texas State had his post released DURING their bowl game this afternoon

Liberty Bowl was during suppertime, so I only watched sporadically, but at one point the announcers commented on how the teams "might be affected by the heavy rain" and I thought that as a taxpayer, I'd be disappointed if the Naval Academy team wasn't able to cope with some water. Apparently, my worry was groundless.

Wake Forest's uniforms look like they're cosplaying as Notre Dame.

Kid’s gonna be like Eric Dickerson. Take a pay cut to go from college to the pros.

You joke, but there actually are about 20 NFL backup quarterbacks — including some who have started games this season, and more than a few who have been in the league for a long time and had some degree of success — who are making less than $3.5 million this season.

Mississippi State got this touchdown on a replay reversal, but still got screwed on the call. Watch the clock. Kamario Taylor scores with 17 seconds left, but the clock bled out on the quarter before they went to replay. Then they never reset it.
That might not be a big deal, but when you're trying to come back from 10 points down in the fourth quarter it also could wind up being a huge deal. That's a kickoff and at least one play, possibly going to the fourth quarter on second down instead of burning off as much as a minute at the start of the fourth quarter with the same kickoff and play. Just something to watch for if they're able to make a game of this.

Oh, and Mississippi State got a celebration penalty on the two-point conversion because its receiver jumped in the stands and took a shot of mayonnaise (I hope) from a fan.
