I had a chat with YouTube a couple days ago because my bill comes due next week and I noticed I didn't have a credit. We got to chatting and and he pushed my payment back a week. So in essence this month I currently paid for, instead of 4 weeks. I'm getting 5 weeks for the cost. And he took $10 off the upcoming payment.

If? Two missed college football weekends constitutes extended in this part of the world.

My subscription bills out late in the month (right before Disney went dark, natch). The pause is set for Wednesday. If they can’t figure it out I’ll jump for good then. Pox on both houses, but one has the content I care about. So in the end that’s who gets my nickel.

I got an email from YouTube TV a little bit ago and it said they're aware body blah. There's a $20 credit will be available. We will send you an email to tell you how to redeem this. JFC. You have my account information. Just f****** credit me without me having to do anything.

Exactly my thought when I read my copy of that email.

I went in and looked at my billing. They've taken the $20 off. I did not have to redeem anything. YouTube TV get your s*** together.

I redeemed this morning. Which leads me to believe this is going to last for a while.

I claimed my credit. Should it be automatic? Yes of course it should be.

I hate to keep sounding like the YTTV apologist, but the credit I received from this (and other carriage disputes) is one more than I ever received from various entities I had previous to YTTV.

Dish and DirecTV also had these carriage disputes and I don’t recall getting dime one back from them.

My guess is that this gets resolved before the CFP, but Google won’t give in easily. They haven’t offered MLB Network or many of the former Fox regional sports nets for several years now.

I claimed my credit and also found another nice surprise -- they cut my rate to $73/month. Guess I won't be changing providers after all!

Any indication why?
I was clicking around the settings trying to find a cancel subscription button, and one of the clicks took me to a page that offered the discount for a year. Something about being a longtime customer (not so much, but maybe they define it differently than I). I jumped on it right quick.

I froze my YTTV subscription after my Fubo free trial ended, and I must have done it right before the $20 discount happened because I don't have the option to redeem that anywhere on my account.

It's only $20, but still, kinda sucks.

YTTV to offer sports package around ESPN.

Under the terms of the deal, YouTube TV gains expanded flexibility to create themed bundles that incorporate Disney’s extensive sports lineup alongside channels like ESPN into cheaper bundles. This provision directly enables the introduction of a sports-only tier, a long-requested feature from subscribers frustrated by paying for entertainment networks they rarely watch. The package would streamline access to live games, analysis, and events without the bloat of general programming, potentially attracting cord-cutters who prioritize athletic content over movies or kids’ shows.
