Freelance writers needed to do porn movie reviews

I can only imagine how this job interview would go.

Interviewer:"So what qualifies you for this position."

Interviewee:"Well, ummm I have a journalism degree, and I watch a lot of porn."

Can't be all that legit. They've been posting on every Craigslist writing/editing board. I suspect it's a scam.

One message board I used to be on had a feature we called Friday Afternoon Smut.

One of its members would write a post with heavy porno featuring members.

That's as close to writing porn as I will probably ever get.

Like this:

While Wicked was critiquing a porno video for a more "legit" poster who wasn't on craigslist, he spotted Forevertown was the lead actor.

Most porno, at some point, features members.

Dooley noted. But in this case, I meant denizens of that particular message board.

I actually wrote one for a short story class in college. I got an A for it, but the only problem was I had to read it to the class. With all the enunciations and such.

I would expect nothing less, Rumple.

Did anything useful come from this (pardon the bad pun)?

I don't know if I should be offended by this comment or not.

But nothing really came of the story, yet. I wrote it and it only goes up to the point of the first sex scene. I wouldn't know the first thing about producing a legitimate porn or finding a studio to take a look at the script. It would be an interracial porn though, entitled "Phi, Slam Her, Jam Her."

The problem with doing reviews of porn movies is that you'd spend all your earnings on laptop cleaning.

I think the LA Times has a reporter who covers the porn industry.

That reporter is too busy reporting on the sodomy going on in the newsroom to be bothered with the sodomy on the screen.

I refuse to be the jizz-mopper for the SportsJournalists.com nudie booth.

The streaks are impossible to clean.

A buddy of mine was the editor of an adult mag here in Toronto back in the late 90s (they only published four issues before the money - such as it was - ran out inside a year).

I did some stories for him, interviewing porn stars when they'd come to Toronto to feature at strip joints, strippers and even guys like Roberto Duran and CFL legend Angelo Mosca when he was a judge at the Miss Nude Ontario pageant.

Anyway, we'd get boxes of pornos to review. I'd take a few and my buddy would think he was Roger Ebert while he was reviewing them, writing long, florrid critiques, but I'd just watch half of it - if that, most of them were awful - and scribble out a couple of 'graphs. "Oh My Gush Pt. 2" didn't deserve much more than that.
