Tombstones

I don't even want to shop for tombstones. I don't want to tempt fate. I have no doubt that once I pick one out, it'll have to be put to use.

Just to reiterate, I think it's well established that couples have shared tombstones placed once one of them dies; what I'm talking about is having the shared tombstone placed when both are still alive and quite healthy.

Oh, that does seem a little odd. Then again, I'm not a big proponent of cemeteries in general. It seems inefficient to dedicate so much of our finite space on this planet to decomposing bodies.

I'm a (future) organ donor, but I don't really get what one has to do with the other.

Its common for people over gthe age of 60 to go ahead and set their tombstones.
My dad's had his for some time and he's 83. His parents did theirs ahead of time, too.
Nothing uncommon about it, especially when its done by people over 60 or 65.
I haven't done any of my funeral-related stuff and I'm well into my 40s.

My parents have had theirs for awhile, and they're just into their 60s. Their thinking was that they didn't want my brother and I to have to worry about picking out tombstones when the time came, so they did it themselves.
