I could've sworn I posted this on this thread, but I think this is a great example of nurture over nature. Steele's father is a West Point grad, and after he got out, they lived in Colorado Springs and central Indiana. My point is that let's not act surprised that she's to the right of Jemele Hill (or for that matter just about anyone at ESPN).

That doesn't excuse some of this ****housery but as a (mostly) black, conservative woman, she probably figures, what's the worst that could happen? Pay raise and a one-way ticket to Fox and Friends to become "Real America"'s black friend?

I think you noted that on the COVID thread. No surprise about her leanings to the right, but there's no defending these comments.

It seems like she's angling to get fired and then go to Fox News/Fox Sports.

Sage should just go to the ESPN execs and be honest: She wants to go to Fox News. She sees what a hack like Candace Owens is doing and figures she's smarter and better suited for it. ESPN would probably release her and she could go. Fox News would scoop her up in a mill-second.

Instead she's going to try to look like a victim of ESPN's "horrible leftist agenda".

IIRC, she insinuated that Obama was ineligible to understand the Black experience in America as a person who was raised by his white mother and grandparents, and his Black father was both foreign and largely absent.
