Chinese Taipei, unless you want to start a war. Or an international hissy fit.

The four teams in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) are the Brother Elephants, the Lamigo Monkeys, the EDA Rhinos and the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions. Even with only 120 games in the schedule, you have to get really sick of seeing the same teams over and over.

Taiwan has used Chien-Ming Weng and Hong-Chih Kuo in the opener. Australia's using pitchers from Detroit's minor-league system.

And, surprisingly, Taiwan won 4-1. Netherlands beat Korea 5-0 in the other game in Taiwan.

Brazil put a scare into Japan, leading 3-2 before Japan pushed three across in the eighth to win 5-3.

what are the odds on this thread reaching four pages?
Well, since I read it 50 posts at a time? Um...low.

Holy Crap! I didn't even know this was an option until know.

Just changed my settings. Sweet!

I streamlined a while ago...got rid of everyone's avatars and took the max amount of posts possible.

Barry Larkin is managing Brazil so even if Jetes was playing he wouldn't be the greatest shortstop in the tournament.

Cuba went from being no-hit to leading very quickly. I was hoping Brasil could pull off a miracle...but it was fun to see them out there.

Japan, Cuba, Taiwan and the Netherlands have advanced to the quarterfinals already. Korea, which was the runner-up in 2009, was the odd team out on a tie-breaker with Taiwan and the Dutch.

Once Israel was eliminated, I lost interest. Anti-Semtic baseball. You're a traitor Selig

And to honor the passing of their president, Venezuela went out and lost 9-3 to the Dominican Republic tonight.

5-1 Aruba, uh, the Netherlands now.

And Cuba has hit into five double plays through six innings.
