Your team is still on the sidelines, fanboy. Comparing across seasons won't change that.

Maybe if your team had drafted a good QB and developed him, or had drafted better than marginally for its defense, or not fired its coach every year for a 3-4-year stretch, or had signed any impact free agents, you might have something.

Fanboy #2 jumping in - this is absurd. First, they signed Henson when he was still considered by many a top QB prospect - it didn't work out. They gave Campo longer than I would have, he wasn't very good and seemed fine with mediocrity, and Parcells was a clear upgrade. Theire drafting on defense has been in the B/B- range, I'd give their drafting a similar grade.

Then they rode with Henson far longer than they should have. He couldn't even beat out Vinny. Then they tried to force him into a game with a short half-week of preparation against a strong defense.

For a stretch, they changed a coach whenever the snow flew in north Texas.

The drafting for the defense has failed to shore up weaknesses, allowing teams to throw nearly at will and to run at opportunistic times.

Oh, and they could have taken Stephen Jackson instead of Julius Jones.

On the QB, maybe, but the opportunity to get a franchise QB doesn't come along every day. The Quincy mess set them back a few years, and they got Bledsoe to bridge the gap to the next guy, which he did, if not very well. While we're still not sure what Romo is, I think he has to go into next year as the starter, but I'd spend a few bucks on a quality backup just in case.

Newman had a good year, as did Ware and for the most part (I think, following from a distance) Canty, not sure about Spears & Burnett. Carpenter seems to be coming along. Williams was taken where everyone thought he should be, I'm guessing they thought he'd develop as a coverage guy, hasn't happened yet, but he brings something to the table. He'd be alot better if they had a legit NFL player at the other safety. When PArcells got there, they were a small quick defense (Coakley, Ngyuen, Ellis etc.), and in a short period he turned them upside down, but it cost basically all the high draft picks they had except Jones).

Yeah, maybe shey should have taken Jackson, but until the last few games, Jones was doing pretty well, and didn't the pick they got from Buffalo become Ware?

Jones did a good job against the Seahawks. I have never understood why people rip on Jones, he seems like a pretty quality running back. Does he get hurt a lot or something?

Clearly not. Who ever thought Henson was a franchise QB? He's a spoiled little daddy's boy who couldn't beat out Tom Brady at Michigan even though Drew's daddy was pushing Carr to start his little boy.

Henson has made more money for doing less than anyone in the history of professional sports. It's absolutely amazing his daddy suckered people in two sports.

Passing up Steven Jackson was absure. He was ready to come to Dallas and wanted to play for the Cowboys, then they trade down and get the not-as-talented Julius Jones. UGH!

And DyePack,

Yeah, they're on the sidelines, I can't change that. Was merely proving a point about their first playoff games.

Sorry I hit a nerve, because clearly, if indeed you are a Bears fan, you're not happy with Grossman. You can only hope he plays half as well as Romo did last Saturday. Meaning, you can only hope he puts you in position to WIN the game.

BP doesn't believe he has what it takes to be a full-time, workhorse feature back. While Bill's there, Jones is at best a 15-carry-a-game guy.

Is that why they run Barber in the red zone?

Bill's always felt he can never have enough quality backs (what coach wouldn't?). He said he'd like to have three.

If SD-NE is a FG game, NE wins. I'll take Indy & the points.

Just curious, why would you take the team with the rookie kicker in a game where a field goal would make the difference?

Belicheck v. Schottenheimer.

I think SD will win, but I think it won't be close, if it is, Marty will blow it.

Colombo, thanks for showing your pear-shaped, zit-speckled ass to this board's denizens.

High comedy once again. You're the man.

You have major context issues,

Bad luck is being in the midst of a hurricane, or an avalanche, or a tsunami. That's bad luck. Losing 13 of 18 playoff games is something entirely different, factoring into that you had a major hand in all of those games.

You impudent ****.
