The UVa starter's little bro was bawling during the early walkfest, which made for good and bad TV depending on who you talked to. But UVa has rallied from 9-2 to 9-7 and there's still time. Vandy better wake up and manufacture something, which it seems to maybe be doing RIGHT NOW in the 6th!

For as well as Kirby pitched this season, he's still probably the least cocky stud pitcher I've ever known.

He has been candid about being nervous prior to some of his biggest outings, and I'd be shocked if nerves didn't play a major role in his unraveling tonight.

You know it's a struggle when a kid who throws a 94 mph fastball can't trust himself to just throw it down the pipe. Most of his misses weren't even close.

Seems like UVA has as much of a shot as any team that has to win two in a row. Bullpen-wise, they've still got Artie Lewicki available in case things go south tonight, and Nick Howard is fresh. Lot of pressure on Brandon Waddell tonight. But Vandy is definitely beatable.

Yeah, I misprinted the final score after the lone run the 8th. The knockdown by the Vandy pitcher in the 8th really changed what might have been completely different. Sports games are decided by situations involving inches so often.
Should be a good one tonight and the Lewicki kid was super in his last outing, so we'll see.

Disagree on the knockdown. Did you see the shift they had on? That was the reason they held on. The shortstop would have gotten there anyway.
