Vic Damone, Legendary Crooner Who Wowed Frank Sinatra, Dead at 89

No one did "On the Street Where you Live" like this guy. Solid lounge singer. If Sinatra and Tony Bennett were the A-team, Damone was a solid B-lister, with Perry Como and Al Martino.

Also formerly married to Diahann Carroll.

To be honest, I only thought of him, in fact I am not sure I've ever heard of the lounge singer.

Stanley Davis Jr, Jefferson's little brother, was in my dorm hall at Long Beach State. He played football for Long Beach Poly and then Long Beach State, when they still had football.

I don't recall many of his songs, but I do remember his discovery: Ran into Perry Como in an elevator. Damone, then a teen, stopped the elevator between floors and started singing. Como took the kid under his wing.
