Couple months after Robert Carradine, RIP to another one of the brothers of Lambda Lambda Lambda -- albeit a convert at the end of the second movie.

One of a rather large number of football players of varying success who went into acting as goons, thugs and loveable oafs through the '70s and '80s.

ALL OF YOU ARE ASSHOLES FOR FORGETTING ABOUT “1ST AND TEN”.

BESIDES “FRAGGLE ROCK”, AND ER, “THE HITCHHIKER” AND I GUESS “NOT NECESSARILY THE NEWS”, IT WAS ONE OF HBO’S FIRST SHOWS.

THERE WOULD BE NO “GAMES OF THRONES” WITHOUT THIS GLORIOUS SHOW FILLED WITH USFL STOCK FOOTAGE!

DOCTOR DEATH WILL BRING HIS UNDEAD VENGEANCE UPON YOU!

AND YES, THAT’S THE LONGEST I’VE EVER GONE USING ALL-CAPS. AND IT’S A GAG I IMMEDIATELY REGRET!

RIP Donald Gibb.

RIP - Damn, crazy how many of the Bulls are in the great beyond, Jethro, Dr. Death, OJ, Bubba, Mad Dog, Otis. Dorsey, Manzak.Witherspoon, DiNardo.

Loved Gibb. There was always more going on with him as an actor. I'm not saying Nerds or 1st and 10 were Shakespeare, but he played actual "people" not caricatures.

Is he the guy who screamed NERDDDDS ?

If so, he has a one word obit, which is actually very uncommon.

Coach and Stan Gable screamed it first, but Ogre's is more iconic.

Actually, Ogre was screaming "NERDS!" earlier than that. (I loved Louis' reaction, "Nerds? Where are they?"):

After news of his death, I went to X and everyone was bringing up his roles as Ogre and Ray Jackson in "Bloodsport." Glad to see the love here for Leslie "Dr. Death" Krunchner on "1st and Ten." Although he was portrayed as a wild guy at first, they let the character expand a little bit as the series went on.

The one that sticks with me to this day is "EssoAsso". Someone who cuts through a gas station to avoid a red light.
Ha, I remember that one too. The only other one I can remember is (back when big bottles of cola had the black plastic bottom on them): bevemirage---because it made you think there was more more soda in them.

My sister had the first Sniglet book.

Remind me again, Nerds fans, because I am not watching that movie again -

Why does the nerd don a Darth Vader mask to have sex with the jock's girlfriend? I mean I know it was to conceal his identity, but why did she think it was her boyfriend?

Did they infer afterwards that the nerd rocked her world when they showed her after the sex?

Not sure if your handle is based off the Tri-Lamb brother, but I get a snicker that @poindexter liked that post. Also too bad that the man behind the character has become such an unsavory person.

Also, as much as the rest of the cast became so synonymous with their characters in the Nerds franchise, it's easy to forget that Nerds was one of the first notable roles for John Goodman in his prolific career.
