Loved that guy.

I loved watching Columbo reruns. He had a funny way about him, not just in the characters he played but in his mannerisms.

This was one of the choices on the funniest scenes thread. It seems appropriate cross threading to share it here. .be

I enjoyed watching him as a manager of a women's wrestling tag team in "All the Marbles"

RIP

I think my favourite was his performance as the Grandfather in "The Princess Bride". Lovely, lovely performance - easy, unforced and graceful.

And don't forget the grandpa in The Princess Bride. The scenes with him and Fred Savage are priceless.

Loved it when he would start to leave a suspect, then duck back and ask one more question. Perfected the crazy like a fox routine. He'll be missed.

Jokes about DB posts aside, I really can't think of anything I saw him in that I didn't think he was great.

I was about to wonder what took so long to mention The In-Laws, but HC linked a scene from it.

There were even movies I didn't like, but I enjoyed his performance, such as the grandfather in Roommates.

For those of you who ever watched "Wings of Desire," you'll know that he has merely returned to heaven.

It always amused me that we had his home phone # in the big file at USA Today. I was often tempted to call, but didn't.

One more clip - Peter Falk in character as Columbo at a Dean Martin Roast for Frank Sinatra. I actually remember watching this in high school (yes, I'm THAT old). :D
