For some reason, I remember the rest of the band reacting much better when they “realized” Mike was on set with them when this aired back in 1986. As I remember it, he had not participated in any of the reunion stuff until this point.

I read it, but I'm not buying it. Gram Parsons, The Band, even traditional country artists like Johnny Cash paved the way for Nesmith's music. Once David Geffen became involved, you know it would become mainstream.

Mike Nesmith was my favorite Monkee, but suggesting he blazed some trails is a stretch.
