Markie Post Dies: Actress Known For ‘Night Court’, ‘The Fall Guy’ & More Was 70

Obviously, very funny and endearing as public defender Christine Sullivan, but was also known for "The Fall Guy" and the short-lived "Hearts Afire" with John Ritter and a then little-known Billy Bob Thornton.
And, also had an under-the-radar hotness that was appreciated by most on this board, I believe.

Ouch. Marjorie was considered one of the most talented women to graduate from Las Lomas High School, just behind Katherine Ross of "Butch Cassidy" fame. One of the best "local girl makes good" stories from my California hometown.

'Night Court' was the premier sitcom of its day, until "Seinfeld" caught fire, in my opinion. What a cast.

Markie Post had an amazing chemistry with John Laroquette, and Harry Anderson was the perfect not-so-straight guy as the judge. Bull Shannon, the cancer-stick danglin' bailiff Selma Diamond and all the other bit characters were great. Markie seemed to be a class act, in addition to a beautiful woman. She did a few episodes of "Chicago PD" as the alcoholic mom of one of the female cops. RIP to a talented actress.

DanO beat me to it. She was a HOF celebrity guest that you wanted on your team to win Pyramid or Password.

This is hitting me harder than it should. I didn’t know her. I was even too young to watch her once emerge from a pool on Fall Guy. Wow. Thanks, YouTube.

Her run on Night Court led her to become the prototype to what I wanted to find in a companion. Seriously. That rare fusion of attractive and intelligent.

Her Twitter posts weren’t common but they were always smart.

In the late 1990s, NBC was giving out sitcoms to everyone. Brooke Shields. Tea Leoni. Lea Thompson. I’m surprised she didn’t get a second star turn after Night Court. She, like Susan Dey, went to CBS for a sitcom after NBC and no one watched CBS then.

There was nothing about Markie Post I didn’t find captivating.
