When the lead media figures of this time die (I won't be around, most likely), will any get the universal fondness Larry got today? My guess is no, a million times no.

Hard to tell. Attitudes change. Fondness grows over time. In 1992 people thought Alex Trebek was snooty. In 2020, he was beloved.

I don't have an opinion on Larry, but I have warm memories of visiting my grandparents, and watching LKL every night. Oh, and the original Family Feud.

Different eras and we have consumed media so much differently since the turn of the century.

Who would you put in the "lead media figures of this time?" No one jumps out to me.

I mean, Larry was a staple on my TV set in the 1990s, but media today is so damn fragmented and politicized, there's no one that stands out today who would get the fondness Larry is getting today.

His last two shows aired on RT America, the Russian network here. Literal radio Siberia.

Yeah, Larry ... some of that Tangerine spray could end up on you.

I always thought that story about Trump and the bad breath was following a question by King about how he's such a great negotiator - and Trump was using the bad breath thing as an example to show how he gets someone off their game and gains leverage.

I just tuned into King’s successor, Jim Bohannon, to see if they’re doing any tribute show tonight. In true Cumulus form, they’re having two hours of conservative complaining followed by a King tribute at midnight eastern when the East coast is already asleep.

If I had a betting pool for a celebrity most likely to have a fouled up estate upon death, Larry King would be the odds-on favorite.

I mean, until Trump dies. His children may literally kill each other.

Or find out he wants to be buried with his remaining cash in a pyramid.
