Hard to tell. Attitudes change. Fondness grows over time. In 1992 people thought Alex Trebek was snooty. In 2020, he was beloved.

I don't have an opinion on Larry, but I have warm memories of visiting my grandparents, and watching LKL every night. Oh, and the original Family Feud.

Different eras and we have consumed media so much differently since the turn of the century.

Who would you put in the "lead media figures of this time?" No one jumps out to me.

I mean, Larry was a staple on my TV set in the 1990s, but media today is so damn fragmented and politicized, there's no one that stands out today who would get the fondness Larry is getting today.

I always thought that story about Trump and the bad breath was following a question by King about how he's such a great negotiator - and Trump was using the bad breath thing as an example to show how he gets someone off their game and gains leverage.
