When it finished Fowler / Corso and Herby coulld barely talk.

Here! Here!

Maybe it's the ESPN influence, but it sure seems like USC has had its share of awesome stories this season without any of them dealing with Ws or Ls — just humans.

Pete lost a few games but had one of his best seasons as a coach of young men.

A beautiful but sad story.

How about the boys speech to players after they lost to Stanford.

Tremendous story, what an inspirational young guy. Can't imagine what that last practice before the surgery was like for Jake. Great work by Carroll and his players.

What got me was when he came to practice after his surgery and after USC lost to Stanford.

Jake now blind tells the players not to let the loss bother them and to go out and beat UCLA.

Certainly put their loss in perspective.

Very true, Boom. The confidence - maybe even defiance is a word you can use here too - in his voice when he said it didn't matter that he was blind, he could still do whatever he wanted with his life was a very powerful moment.
