Perhaps, but the Broncos-Pats games have been really good the last few years. But the AFC title game is going to get huge ratings, regardless. The build-up to a final Brady-Manning game would be make the network and the league do back flips.

This is cool. NFL Films was able to stitch together the original broadcast of Super Bowl I for the first time, and NFL Network will air it in full on Friday night. Most of the tapes had been lost over the years.
They've done this with some other Super Bowls, and have done some similar things with the "NFL's Greatest Games" series that are always fun to watch.

DVR set. Did this really take forever, or held for Super Bowl 50 hoopla? Either way, I'm in. Sounds like a fun watch.

Nice to know Adam Jones is ready to show some maturity, take responsibility for his actions and stop whining. He now claims that if Antonio Brown misses Sunday's game in Denver, he will admit he was wrong in accusing Brown of flopping.

It is looking more and more as if Jones will have to make that admission. Brown did not practice Wednesday and one report has him still feeling concussions symptoms.

This was how we were taught to tackle in the 70's; basic hit with your shoulder pads at the waist and wrap up. Jack Tatum notwithstanding, we were not taught to go around "spearing" guys with your head/helmet. Really wonder why/when the spearing started.

Going back to that Super Bowl I broadcast for a minute, there's a good story by Yahoo's Eric Adelson on why it's taken so long for it to happen. Apparently there is a tape of the game owned by an anonymous guy in Pennsylvania, and it surfaced years ago. He offered to sell it to the NFL for $1 million, but they refused:

The NFL came back with a far lower number, "low five-figures," according to the tape-holder's lawyer, Steve Harwood.
"The reaction was: it's their game and they did not want to pay for something they felt was theirs," he says.
Harwood and his client still wanted to work with the NFL so that the world could see the tape. He says the league threatened an injunction.
"Gone back to them twice, 10 years ago and this year. Both times we’ve dealt with the legal dept.," Harwood said. "First time it was an outside law firm. Both sent us a nice little cease and desist letter."

That's a good read, Batman ... with the money quote from the tape owner's rep at the end: "It's not worth us to undergo litigation with the behemoth that is the NFL," Harwood says. "It may never be seen. It's too bad."

The NFL's lawyers are meaner, nastier and more ruthless than the Mafia's.

It's also amazing how the tape owner can't suck it up and share the treasure for a five-figure reward.

Agreed. Team owners can get $100 million for not getting their LA bid, but $1 million to a fan is about $990,000 too much? Brilliant!
