What subject/topic would you say you have the most knowledge about?

Many smart people here. Interested to read the replies.

I'm a generalist. A fox, not a hedgehog.

I know a little about many things, but not everything about one thing.

Fighting on the Internet.

I'm joking. English football, probably. Space. Architecture. I know the right restaurants in probably 100 American cities. But obviously there are people who know far more than I do about those subjects, starting here. (@Starman's political posts notwithstanding, he knows a ****load about human spaceflight.) I wouldn't call myself an expert on anything. Closest I might get is writing non-fiction. I feel like I know how to do that. But that's not really a subject in which you can claim expertise.

British punk and New Wave music
Civil War’s western theater
Francisco Coronado’s traipsing across the Southwest
Bicycles
Irish Coffee
How to expertly cook meat
SEC football and basketball
Digital marketing
TV production
The Obama Administration
Alfa Romeos
American fighter aircraft

We should definitely hang out.

I would rather be the guy soaking up information than conveying it, but I do know a bit about ...

Class C motorhomes
American oval track motor racing
Early manned spaceflight
The Detroit Tigers
Florida football, pre-HBC (Head Ball Coach)
1970s AM hit radio

I wouldn't presume to say I'm an expert on anything.

I do have what I would consider "almost-expert" knowledge of marine mammals (a lifelong love) and pretty strong knowledge of U.S. history (always a favorite subject in school, and some of the best teachers I had were in that topic). Pretty good with regard to psychology as a general subject, too (my minor in college, I have an interest in it and social sciences, and have had some personal exposure and experiences that have kept me interested in the topic).

Otherwise, I suspect that I'm like a lot of journalists: I know a little about a lot of things, and am easily engaged and interested in almost anything.

Geography (thanks to the Carmen Sandiego franchise and my parents who refused to buy me a Nintendo as a kid)
Harry Potter
Various sports of my alma mater
Random useless crap that gets my trivia team points every Monday in pursuit of free beer
Queen (the band, not the person)

I've meant to try out for Jeopardy but if a category ever came up that was something along the art history/religion/Shakespeare outside of Romeo and Juliet line, I'd be sunk.

If I was a journalist looking for a source, what would I be considered an expert in?

Just a different way to think about the question.

- The Rise of Right-Wing Politics and Hitler in Post World W1 Germany
- The Jail Blazers Era of The Portland TrailBlazers
- The Dennis Erickson Years at Oregon State
- Getting scammed by roommates off Craigslist
- 90s country music

Gosh, I need to get a life :/

I'm an expert at looking like I know what I'm doing in most adult situations, when in truth I'm pretty much winging it like everyone else. Also Sega Hockey '93. I will crush anyone, doesn't matter what team you saddle me with.

Also, 1980s in NFL, MLB and NBA, mostly from repeatedly reading the Zander Hollander complete handbooks, the Sporting News NBA Registers, the Red and Green books, and god knows how many issues of SI, Baseball Digest, Sport, Inside Sports, Pro, etc.

Man I spent a lot of time reading sports stuff in the 1980s. It was glorious.
