Quite a bullpen meltdown by the D'backs. Six runs and counting in the ninth inning by the Mets.

All started with an error too. Should have been none out, two outs and LoDuca up. Instead the error leads to a walk and a three-run shot by Easley; walk to Franco, single by Reyes, three-run shot by Wright.

Sorry, noles, but the error did not "lead" to anything. The error put one man on base with one out.
Stupid, way-too-linear thought.

That error tipped that moron's fragile psyche.

I agree with the crotchety one.

Great inning by the Yankees pitching staff. Mariners send 13 batters to the plate, score eight runs on eight hits and two walks. Yankees trail 14-8 going to the bottom of the eighth. The only comfort I take is the Mariners pitching sucks. This could be a 21-20 game.

Angola - I know you meant bottom of the fifth because of the 21-20 reference.
And you're right, nice inning by the Yankee pitchers.
Freakin' Igawa stinks <fantasybaseballlooser>

My mistake, though it was your mistake to start Kei Igawa. Now Myers has put the first two on in the sixth.

Mariners wouldn't trade bullpens with the Yankees.

...and that double by Sexson drives in the M's 15th run ---- most runs Seattle has ever scored in Yankee Stadium.

And Johnny Damon hits a two-out three-run homer to pull the Yankees within 15-11 in the seventh.

M's/Yankees, two beat-up teams, but the Yankees' pitching is a shambles.

Now comes Weaver. How will the Yanks treat their old pards tomorrow?

What a steaming dungheap that game was tonight.

four-way tie for second place in the AL East, all 6.5 games back of the Red Sox.

Probably treat him the same way everyone does: like the soles of their shoes.

John Maine abnout to go 5-0 with 1.37 ERA.
Mets 5-1 over washed up Randy Johnson in the 8th

George King of the Post is reporting that Carl Pavano will probably undergo Tommy John surgery soon. He will also become the first pitcher to have a simultaneous ligament/heart/testicular transplant in sports history.

What's the over/under on Cashman finding an out in what could be the worst signing in baseball history?
