And then he tossed it to Wendy Nix and said it'd be the last time she'll be on TV this week without using the word Spy Gate.

I learned from ESPN -- from people who work there -- that Mayne prides himself on the obscure, almost joke, stories, so the network lets him go. I'm a big fan of his sense of humor -- very, very dry and subtle.

Mayne's good.

Still love the old-school Olberman/Patrick shows. Favorite two lines were "That's for Alanis Morissette's pain!" when anyone scored on the Maple Leafs, and "That's 6-4-3 if you're scoring at home, or even if you're all by yourself."
