I can't believe I'm saying this, but this actually looks pretty cool.

That actually didn't look terrible. And Simmons will now have more quotes to use for the next 25 years.

I thought it would be horrible. But I think it looks pretty good and will probably be a pretty big hit.

I also think it's funny that Jaden Smith's name is before Chan's on the poster.

Liked the last little nod to the original with Chan trying to catch the fly with the chopsticks and using a flyswatter instead to the tune of "You're the Best Around".

Otherwise, it looked so-so. Maybe I'll see it as a matinee, but I'm not dropping $9 for it.

I guess he's too young to have a love interest so we won't have an Ali with an i. They should also have gotten Zabka in a cameo, perhaps as an ex-pat in China running a small dojo under the Cobra Kai flag.

Well, that said the plot was him developing a crush on the girl at school. So he does have a "love" interest, which is what makes the bully give him ****.

It looks like there's a bit of a love interest. I looked this up last night - Smith is only a year younger in this than Macchio was in the original KK.

When your dad is a producer, that will happen.

That's completely wrong. Macchio was in his 20s when the first Karate Kid came out.

Seriously? He looked like he was the same age as Daniel.

Really? Why did I think Macchio was like 25 when he made that? The training scenes look like Van Damme's in Bloodsport.

Looking it up, Maccho was born in 1961 and Karate Kid came out in 1984, so he was much older than Jaden.

Jaden Smith is 11.

Macchio was born in 1961. KK came out in 1984. The center square goes to Mizzou.

That trailer looks very good.

Jaden Smith is 11.

Which will make any love/kissing scenes a little on the creepy side.

Ok, this doesn't look awful.

But a remake of the Karate Kid? Really?

I just watched the original the other night actually. I like it. But I don't see it as "remake worthy."

A couple things I noticed in the trailer:

1) Jaden looks a lot like his dad
2) Joe Esposito's "You're the Best" was playing when Chan swatted the fly - AWESOME!

And, because that song/scene is awesome, enjoy:

Inky, when they deposit the $800 million this will make this summer and this winter, they won't think if the movie was needed to be made.
