Hugh Freeze rightfully concerned as he sees his 2013 recruiting efforts go down the drain.

I would love to see a game at The Grove. Can't remember where I saw it, but the entire area smells of Crown Royal, Cigars, and Chanel No. 5

Wright Thompson, get your neato hat and notebook STAT!

But don't rush out of the house and forget Grandpappy's Whiskey!

If you want to see the real game you better go to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Maybe Wright and Kevin Van Valkenburg can head to Ole Miss this weekend and repeat their "reporters at their first SEC game ever" act that they did so well last week in Baton Rouge. We could get minute by minute tweets of the riots and the food served.

So was there a riot with racial epithets, or not?

According to that news link above, they are getting out of calling it a riot because there was no violence. Which does make sense. I think the student journalists on scene overdid it a bit.

Reminds me of the time in college that the student paper had a huge headline saying "Fires Rage Across Campus." There were two fires simultaneously but coincidentally a couple of miles apart.

It's the proverbial "unfortunate actions of a few " spoiling it for everyone else. In no way do those students represent the ideals of University of Mississippi.

Reminds me of that old SNL skit, the 1992 Presidential Debate with the late/great Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton.

"Arkansas has made great strides fighting illiteracy, and we've passed Mississippi, so look out Alabama, we're right up on your tail!"

I've never been to Mississippi. It sounds magical.

Parts of it are. On most days, Oxford and Ole Miss' campus are glorious. On most days, I'm a proud alum — most.

The coach walked the tightrope pretty well, but he did make one claim that bears checking. Did this sort of thing -- racial epithets directed at POTUS -- really occur on other campuses? I haven't seen that, but I may have missed it.

Hattiesburg in June are pretty ****ing magical. Especially on top of the dorm buildings.

He's definintely wrong about that. We all know that every single racist college student in America attends Ole Miss...

I'm not claiming racism is the exclusive province of Ole Miss or whatever that place wants to call itself. I'm saying that I'd like to know if there are any known incidents of such public displays of contempt at any other school. Because that's what Freeze was saying: That the world knows of several others and that they haven't been publicized. It's pretty well established that you can't do that sort of thing (public protest, yelling epithets) for any longer than 30 seconds without somebody capturing the moment for posterity.
