So I'm sorry if this has been mentioned in the spring training thread already, but I think it deserves a thread of its own.

I for one am thrilled that Jr.'s back in Seattle. Sure he won't be the same Griffey and it's a PR move by the Mariners...but still. He's Ken Griffey Jr. I still believe he should've never left the M's.

he left the M's because they built a pitcher's park.

the M's will draw nearly a half million more people because of this PR move. i'll be one of them.

As a Reds fan, I wish it hadn't been such a lousy stint in Cincy. I don't think he meant to go on the DL 68 times, but it never went over well with the locals.

can't blame 'em, though.

and i was lucky enough to be young and have the $15 or so bucks it took to watch griffey play in the dome from his rookie year until he fled the PNW. this has a monster "good ol' days" feel to it for me.

Same here, tp. I spent many an afternoon sitting in the "bone yard" and watching Griffey work his magic in the outfield. The Kid comes back and, suddenly, August and September 1995 come rushing back, complete with sitting in a parking lot with my dad during some family shindig, listening to the one-game playoff on the car radio.

Oh, Junior, we're so glad to see you again.

I saw Griffey in one of his last years with the M's in the Kingdome against Mo Vaughn's Red Sox.
Every time he came to bat, the whole place would be focused on him.
The craziest thing I remember is that early in the game he hit a line drive hard between first and second. A-Rod was taking off from first and got drilled in the leg. I think they stopped play for like 15 minutes or so. I had never before, and never since, seen anything like that. I'm sure it's happened more frequently, but I've never seen it.

Rejoice M's fans...

this brings a smile to my face, but, allow me one dig: griffey played the deepest CF in the history of the game (not a good thing) and never, ever hit the cutoff man ... ok, that was two.

This just means I will make one final trip to a Mariners game before I leave the Northwest.

i probably could talk PO into a roadie.

Oooooo, in that case, I'm in!

this just in: babar told me that drinks/dinner are on him when we get there.

Never should have left and he probably tarnished his legacy by doing so.

Still, this locks up his entry into the HOF as a Mariner.

if he doesn't pull an A-Rod.
