Euros are better at team golf. One of the Americans' biggest problems in recent competitions has been giving away too many matches the first couple of days and expecting some great comeback in the singles matches on Sunday.

The PGA of America is right up there with the worst ownership groups in sports. They care about how much money they can squeeze out of the Ryder Cup and nothing else matters, including coming up with any kind of meaningful plan to give the U.S. consistent chances to win the damn thing. And ask your local PGA pro about how much money he or she will see from Bethpage.

The next Ryder Cup, we host will probably be sponsored by a chewing tobacco company.

Because the PGA of America has an entire lineup of milquetoast courses at its disposal -- Bethpage, Hazeltine, Baltusrol, Quail Hollow, Valhalla, Frisco. All uninspiring.

Bethpage had 90 percent of its sting taken out by 1. Rain the days before the Cup began. Nothing to be done about that, but give the best players soft greens and they will go low. 2. Bradley's poor decision to cut down the rough.
The Cup is going to Olympic in the next decade, right? That's hardly a milquetoast course. And frankly, after the scenes at Bethpage, I'll be surprised if any really top private course would want to host the ****show a US home Ryder Cup can be. Not good for its reputation.

Hazeltine in 2029. Olympic in 2033. Congressional in 2037.

Which ties in with Olympic having the PGA Championship in 2028 and Congressional in 2030. And Bethpage hosting the PGA in 2033.

Before the month is over the PGA of America ought to tell Bethpage that no one with a New York (state) address will be permitted to buy a ticket in ‘33.
