Anyone seen it yet? Had a night to kill later this week, was thinking about checking it out -- Vaughn makes me chuckle, what can I say. But, haven't heard anything about this flick. Usually, somebody here has posted something... but nada. So, if you've seen it -- funny, unfunny, too early for a Christmas flick?

Do tell.

It looks like a cliched Christmas movie. There's nothing appealing about it, to me. It's a kid's holiday flick.

I've only heard a little but it's all a variation of one theme: It sucks.

Was cute, nothing special. Was far better than Chrimmas with the Kranks, but not as good as Christmas Vacation.
And it has Rachel Weisz and Elizabeth Banks...
But Vince Vaughn is growing stale. Please, play someone else besides the same character...

Seriously, I was shocked and put off to hear they edited the head of a couple actors onto the bodies of "little people" to play elves.

I think that's pretty weak and if I were a little person, I'd be pretty offended.

THANK YOU! It's about time someone pointed this out. There was a time when Vaughn mixed his comedy and serious roles. Now he's cloying, frat boy wannabe pathetic.

Sounds like something you'd take your 8-year-old along on...but if you don't have a kid, uh, you don't go.

I posted this on the movies thread:

Went with the wife and our niece and nephew yesterday to see "Fred Claus." Thought it was a nice enough little cup of Christmas pablum, with some funny stuff from Vince Vaughn. The sappy stuff at the end of the movie made the theater a bit dusty. I like Vaughn, even though I don't think he necessarily does a lot of stretching acting-wise. He's got several of his patented riffing bits in there that are funny. Oh, and it's never a bad thing to look at Rachel Weisz, although she's not in the movie very much. When she is, she's the best-looking meter maid in history.

Not only roles, but how about movie plots as well. I mean, isn't this just a slightly tweaked version of Elf from that other one role wonder, Will Farrell?

It's not even Thanksgiving yet! **** Christmas sales, **** Christmas carols on the radio, and **** THIS MOVIE!

At least until next Friday.

I'm not sure Vaughn has any range. This may be it. If that's the case, he played his cards so very well.
