Dirtiest college hoops coaches ever...

Maybe I'm having selective memory on Tubbs, but I don't remember him being that bad, at least not when he was at OU...

Sutton definitely should be on the list... Good call...

Dave Bliss is the dirtiest human being to coach. Does that count for something?

Dana Kirk went to prison. That's got to be good enough to qualify for the next round.

Lock it up here. I need a shower just reading this.

Honorable mention goes to Tark and his son, George, who I covered when he coached JCs in the mid/late 90s.

Wasn't that for tax evasion? Was he dirty as a coach or just a piece of dung as a human?

I believe the evasion in question had to do with under-the-table payoffs involving nearly his entire basketball life.

I mean you gotta love charging the kids at camp a buck for the soda and then using the proceeds to pay off gambling debts.

I don't think Sampson belongs on this list simply because making too many phone calls ain't nearly as nefarious a crime as paying players, perpetrating academic fraud, and other **** that so many coaches have been busted for over the years. But a couple names that could be there:

--Clem Haskins: oversaw a mammoth system of academic fraud and cheating at Minnesota.

--Jim O'Brien: directly paid recruit from his own pocket at Ohio State.

--Steve Fisher, there's a reason the Fab Five officially never existed now.

--And, if you include the crime of looking the other way and pretending not to notice as boosters orchestrate the cheating and player-paying: Adolph Rupp, Joe B. Hall and the saintly John Wooden himself.

O'Brien really doesn't belong, either. He's got one offense, and OSU overreacted to that so badly that he owns half the campus now. Plus, he was clean everywhere else.

Covered Bliss long before Baylor, and needed lots of showers way back then, too.

When one of your players kills another one, and you help him cover it up, then you've earned a bye to the next round, I'd say.

Yep, I think we can all agree Bliss wins the gold in this contest, the rest of the debate is for the silver and bronze.

John Wooden? [/ducking for cover]
Say what you want about Knight, but there was a reason Wooden wasn't on his Christmas card list for a long time. (Rhymes with Ram Hilbert. 8))

1) Dave Bliss - Self explanatory ...
2) Jerry Tarkanian - Drug at least two programs into the muck.
3) Eddie Sutton - Scumbag and a drunk, to boot.
4) Bob Huggins - Graduation rates were laughable at Cincinnati.
5) Jim Harrick - Using kids like Huggins and those jokes for tests.

Fisher learned at the knee of Bill Frieder, under whose iron-fisted disciplinarian rule the Ed Martin cash express was established in Ann Arbor.
