Long story short, four dates into a budding relationship, I'm just not down anymore.
It's time to end it.
She lives about an hour away, and while I don't want to be a jerk, I don't particularly want to drive an hour to tell this girl I don't want to see her anymore.

Any suggestions?

Call her, then. But for the love of Tebow, don't text her.

Um. yeah. Don't text her, e-mail her, IM her or do it any other way than on the phone. She deserves at least that courtesy. All women do.

Facebook status announcement.

That's how I found out for sure that my marriage was over.

I'm not kidding.

I can and do laugh about it now, though......I actually wish I had thought of it. :D

Drive over, have sex with her and break up with her via a note left on the pillow after you sneak out in the middle of the night.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Drive home safely.

Who text beakups with someone?

Oh yeah, my girlfriend of two years did that to me last year. Hooray for cold-hard bitchery.

Four dates? Is it that big an issue?
"Yo, ain't happening. Later."

So, uh, I should be concerned because The Queen's Facebook relationship line now says "single?"

I wouldn't worry about it. If you stopped going down after four dates, she was probably going to break up with you anyway.

Are things that serious after 4 dates? I would think in person or phone would be fine.

But, whatever you decide to do, please don't say you want to be "friends." Hate that.

Was thinking the same thing.

You could always just write her a letter--you know, with a pen---and snailmail it to her. That' kinda romantic.

Maybe I'm a bit presumptuous, or maybe I think she's more into me than she actually is, but I think it's at the point where I'd be hurting her, rather than just her ego. So yeah, I'd like to do it civilly.

You only need worry when she changes it to, "It's complicated."

Four dates in, you can do it by phone. If you have a few weeks or months in, she deserves a face-to-face talk.

She's married to ME. Complicated is normal.

It's been 30-plus years since I've been in the dating field. WAY back when, afore most a you kiddies was born, three dates was the line. You hadn't "hit it" by the third date, wasn't going to happen, wasn't no sparks, everyone moved on. No calls necessary.
Four really doesn't seem much beyond that, the sex angle aside. This isn't a long and deep and involved relationship. What's four dates these days, two weeks? Jeebus.
