The Sci Fi Channel is now ...

It's brilliant! If you spell it differently, it's not nerdy at all! It's hip like the Facialbook!

Seriously, why on earth rebrand yourself in such an ambiguous and lame way? If you're trying to keep from being pigeonholed as the science fiction channel, why not come up with something that doesn't look like a ridiculous "cute" misspelling of that phrase?

Someone explain, por favor? I'm totally flummoxed.

Rebranding: One big ol' WTF.

And this made me laugh:

Well done.

Central Florida wants people to call it UCF. That doesn't stand for the University of Central Florida; it's just UCF.

Years ago, AARP decided its initials don't stand for anything -- it's just AARP. Same with ACT, which formerly stood for American College Testing. KFC decided Kentucky Fried Chicken was too old-fashioned. We're KFC.

Oh, except now we're KGC.

There are other examples I can't think of right now. Yes, this is silly.

In Quebec, KFC is -- or at least used to be -- PFK, for Poulie (sp) Frie de Kentuck.
