Baseball playoff rainout question

This could be stupid, but me and my buddy were wondering...

It's game seven and the score's 2-1 when a downpour starts. Can/would the umps call it because of weather and it does not finish up the next day?

There's no way they would call it. They'd play until it's done, even if they have to continue the next day. Way too much is on the line. They'd probably wait all night if they had to.

Phillies-Dodgers played in an absolute monsoon at the old Vet sometime in the late 1970s. Bowie Kuhn sat there without a raincoat, as if he could wish the clouds away ...

A few years ago, I think the Rangers and Yankees restarted after a rain delay of 3-4 hours.

Mets and Braves played in a monsoon in Game Five of the NLCS in 1999. Once this game got going, it wasn't getting delayed.
