HB, the Mets can't promote Gary Carter since he's not in the organization anymore. I hope you all realize there are no obvious choices to replace Randolph right now.

Yeah ... Tim Teufel's St. Lucie Mets are in dead-last right now. :D

Code:
Club W L PCT GB H A L10 Streak
St. Lucie	6	21	.222	12.0	4-10	2-11	4-6	W2

Serious question: What level of the minors is that?

If you're at the lower rungs of the minors, your wins and losses should not be the first indicator of whether you're doing your job as a manager. It should be whether you have developed the players under your watch to the best of their ability.

I'd rather have a low Class A team finish last but furnish me five major league players who are ready to play at the next level than have a first-place team that can't develop so much as a utility infielder.
It's Florida State League, which is long-A ball. And I agree with your premise, but it is somewhat important to be winning, at least at a fair clip. You don't want to be bringing up major-league ready talent that's used to being 6-21.

Wonder if he tore it before or after Nedley decided to leave him in the game?

That sucks

Boy, Brewers fans must have run the gamut of emotions in a few short hours - from Turnbow being sent down to Gallardo done for the season (likely).

But, hey, Jeff Weaver is preparing to take a role in the rotation soon ... :)

The key in that is the W2 in the streak column. They were 4-21.

Well, yeah, Look who they played their last two games against: the Cubs. :D

Jesus ... and he pitched on that for another inning? :o

No ... another two innings. :o

I thought he finished the inning after he got hurt, granted it was a full inning because there was nobody out when it happened, and then they pulled him.

Right... he threw a lot of pitches in the seventh, so that's why said two innings (even though he didn't get an out).
