For you fans of the Old Hawaii 5-0 (and I love the new one just as well), the end of Monday night's show had a cliff-hanger: Wo Fat returns. Except in this version, he's slim, young and has hair.

Wondered if they'd ever get around to resurrecting the Wo Fat character.

I thought the bad guy in the episode, the one that McGarrett thought he killed in the premier, was the new "Wo Fat" but just had a different name. I was pleased to see Wo Fat return. . . I hope he makes the show better.

It's distracting, though, that the actor playing Wo Fat is the same guy who's the Chairman on Iron Chef America. I kept expecting him to pull out an apple, take a big bite of it and then mug for the camera.

I guess I'm OK with the fact they're having a joyous Christmas party while the long-haired guy they borrowed from the prison is on the loose and there's $10 million missing from a police evidence room.

Best line last night, from McGarrett: "I'm not a cop. I'm a SEAL."

As remakes go, this one is tolerable, and in some ways exceeds the original.

At least the money is drug money. Not like they stole funds intended for soup kitchens or something. But security at that Honolulu police station is pretty lax.

Before the season began, I harped and harped about how awful I thought the new "Five-O" was going to be, and the first couple episodes didn't impress me much.

But as the season has gone on, and I've gotten over the idea the characters should have anything to do with their counterparts in the original series, it's grown on me some.

It's not great or anything, but it's reasonably watchable.

As far as the new Wo Fat is concerned, we'll have to see how the plotlines develop. He's got to be some kind of mysterious puppet-master from China.

So who's the first one Wo Fat sends to whack McGarret: Bobby Flay or Marco Bataglia?

And, yes, I know someone beat me to the reference, but I just had to get it out.

BTW, I really like the show. It's the only one I've watched consistently this year.
