Wedding dance question

Seriously, I think you should ask your mother if she's got a song with which she'd like to commemorate the moment. I felt like it was her moment as the mother of the groom and that she should pick the song.
Of course, I didn't have (read: wasn't allowed to have) much input on the couple's first dance, either, so I don't know. My suggestion - Here, There, And Everywhere - was played while we cut the cake, so at least it received some sort of prominent attention.

Mother, you had me but I never had you,
I wanted you but you didn't want me,
So I got to tell you,
Goodbye, goodbye.

"Hey There Delilah"

Too bad it doesn't get more air time these days.

That's such a great song! I love it, but was a little concerned about my love for it when Doc's 14-year-old sister said that it was her favorite song.

I hate Delilah. It's my second most hated song at the moment, right behind Rhiana's Umbrella, which, when I hear it in the car, makes me want to stab my ears with my tire gauge. Delilah just makes me turn off the radio.

Sentimental favorite, "I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again" - Toby Keith

Serious suggestion, "Angels Among Us" - Alabama

I was just at a wedding where the bridge and groom danced to Adam Sandler's song from Wedding Singer. They're goofballs so it went over pretty well.

Why don't you find out who her favorite artist is and then try to find something that works. It will be special to her no matter what you do, but making it something she likes will make it great.

Not this song, right? :)

Adam Sandler - Somebody Kill Me

[Spoken]
Ok, I just want to warn you that when I wrote this song
I was listening to the Cure a lot.

[Sung]
You don't know how much I need you.
While you're around I don't feel blue.
And when we kiss I know that you need me too.
I can't believe I found a love that's so pure and true.

But it all was bull****.
It was a goddam joke.
And when I think of you and I,
I hope you ****ing choke.

I hope you're glad with what you've done to me.
I lay in bed all day long feeling melancholy.
You left me here all alone, tears running constantly.

Oh somebody kill me please,
somebody kill me plee-ase,
I'm on my knees,
pretty pretty please kill me.

I want to die.
Put a bullet in my head.

Well every girl that I go out with
Becomes my mother in the end.
Every girl I go out with
Becomes my mother in the end.
Well I hear my mother calling,
But I don't need her as a friend.
Well every girl I go out with
Becomes my mother in the end.

"Mama Told Me Not To Come", 3 Dog Night.

Very versatile--works for a couple different wedding situations.

In the same vein, what about: "Back Door Man" by The Doors
