So a little HGH is worse than cheating on the sidelines?

Discuss.

and its a valid beef. Belichick's offense was clearly worse. An assistant coach using a little HGH has no impact on the integrity of the game whatsoever.

one's got nothing to do with another. players are suspended for HGH use, goodell's gonna hold coaches to a higher standard for the same use. apples and oranges.

that said, he let belichick off far too easily with no suspension.

It is different, but, yeah, Belichick got off easy. Should have been the fine, the draft choices -- both first-rounders, no matter the playoff implications -- and three games.

at least Wilson can say his use of HGH was for medical reasons, Billy only has the excuse of doing whatever it takes to win a football game.

Whether he suspended or not they should have taken away at least the 08 and 09 No. 1's and prohibited them from trading up for a No. 1 in those years as well.

It's a different sport but the T-Wolves were hit with much, much worse in the Joe Smith fiasco.

This is total bull****. If I started this, someone would say that it was wrong. Because another name started the thread it's a good topic.
Typical SportsJournalists.com favoritism bull****.

The fine, the largest ever opposed on a NFL coach, represents 12 percent of Belichick's scheduled 2007 salary, which is believed to be $4.2 million.

Note to espn: I could be wrong, but the word is 'imposed.' Not 'opposed.'

I mentioned the Wade Wilson question on another thread. Good for him for objecting to this--Belichick's punishment was a joke.

If Wilson's suspension was given on the basis that coaches must be held to a higher standard, he has every right to complain. His purchase of hgh--as a coach--had nothing to do with aiding his team. Belichick's actions were for the sole purpose of gaining an unfair advantage.

I love that Goodell wants to make big statements with his sentences, but this one was a big whiff.

Something tells me Mr. Goodell is re-thinking the Wilson stance. Just a hunch.

Wade Wilson used HGH to improve his quality of life after suffering from cancer. There is no on-field advantage for Wilson. It ain't like the 'Boys are going to have him suit up if Tony Romo goes down.

Well said brother... Goodell went after Wilson way too hard on this one.

I understand why Goodell wants to be the Law & Order commish, and I respect him for it. But this case just reeks of punishment not fitting the crime.

Wilson has diabetes, not cancer.
