You need to watch it unedited.. though the golf channel is better than nothing.

I got a call from a friend asking me what was the golf swing to Roy McAvoy. I proceeded to give the first half of the monologue, accurate to about 90 percent.

Imagine what I could do if my brain was filled with useful ****.

I do enjoy this flick. Sometimes I wish Roy would just lay up.

Much as I really like this flick, it falls to pieces at the end when a 3-wood stops dead on the 18th green and then rolls backward into the water. Just no ****ing way that ever happens.

There were enough good golf people with input into that movie that allowing that at the end is just inexcusable.

On the other hand, I think it was one of the worst golf movies ever made.

1. Despite its circa of 1996, the guy is still hitting persimmon woods. Titanium existed back then. A guy who was that much of a stud player would be hitting metal driver and woods.
2. He's playing a U.S. Open sectional with earphones on. For no apparent reason. Not allowed under the rules.
3. See Old Tony post. A 3-wood launched that far is going to be coming in hot, and will not check up and roll back.
4. The argument about whether there was a Waffle House in either Odessa or Midland was silly. I'd suspect that there are multiple Waffle Houses in both towns.

And the acting wasn't good. Rene Russo looked fine, however.

This guy doesn't see what the big deal is. He usually lets his defensemen take the penalty shots though...

Rene Russo was easily the best part of the film. And Don Johnson was put in a tailor-made role and knocked it out of the park.

Even Youngblood had to wear his helmet for his penalty shot.

A shot which, by the way, was a goal as soon as the puck crossed the plane of the goal line, regardless of where the puck actually came to rest......fail on the dramatic slo-mo.

550 is Driver, 6 iron for 70 percent of tour pros.

That's the part that really gets me.
I was practically hollering at my wife last night. This is such bull****. There is a no way a 3-wood shot does that. NO Way.
