A few months ago I covered a lower-level MMA card at Kaiser Permanente Arena, where the Warriors G League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors, play. Sea Dubs arena, but the MMA company's event.

Got there early anticipating problems, and there were some, like not being able to get into the arena despite an email credentialing me for the event. Just to be safe, I printed out the email before I left home. Finally the goons at the gate called in someone from the Sea Dubs who not only got me inside, but found a seat for me at what was usually the scorers' table. The MMA folks were of some help eventually, but the Warriors rep came by once an hour or so to see if I needed anything, ect. A few days later I sent her a thank you email, noting I knew all along the problems were with the promoters, not the Sea Dubs.

That's the difference between a team running an event and a team just renting out the hall.
