EPL season begins today so it’s time for another walk of honor around the pitch.

Hate to say it, but I think Leeds goes straight back down. Just not enough attacking power.

The stupid PSR rules make it very difficult for newly-promoted teams to properly strengthen their squads even if they do have solid financial backing.

Meanwhile, debt-saddled Man U spends $200 million on transfers.

Premier League needs to revamp its financial system, but it won’t.

Man United does have tons of revenue coming in and they amortize their purchases of players. It’s a lot less fugazy than Chelsea selling its hotels to a related company or Man City booking sponsorship revenues from companies which literally don’t exist.

Fun first game. And obviously emotional with the death of Jota.

Lots of flux for the USMNT players in Europe. Sounds like Gio is leaving Dortmund so hopefully he can get some run and stay healthy.

I think Wrexham has a hard time this year. Going from League 1 to the Championship is a huge leap and a few clubs have just as much financial clout as they do.

Took a gander at the Champo table. Not surprised Sheffield Wednesday is near the bottom because the Wendies have been savaged by a predatory owner and they have 10 cents and a bag of chips as assets.

I am surprised that the team propping them up is ... Sheffield United. Def Leppard weeps.

Wrexham's goal this season has to be "Don't drop back down" right?

I would say it is fairly likely the defender’s knee clips the attacker’s foot and tripped him up. And that’s after slowing the video down enough to watch the foot as it comes near the knee. I would get it if the ref called it first and the video can’t over turn it. But how does VAR definitively say it was a penalty. I said it was likely. But it wasn’t for sure.
