Journalists losing jobs isn't so bad if they work at the wrong newspapers.

The police say he was never detained. The Post reported he was taken into custody.
Did it? I'm going from memory, but I believe it said there were police outside his hospital bed.
That's some mighty fine parsing of language, but that's exactly the sort of thing police do for PR purposes in these situations. I'm guessing he wasn't taken into custody while being treated for wounds, but they weren't exactly letting him out of their sight.

With the rearranging of the Murdoch empire, it's not going to be able to exist losing $80 million a year for much longer.

Hey that is something to celebrate - a bunch of journalists losing their jobs.
So let's make sure we get the rules straight now --- journalists losing their jobs is OK if it means the closing of a publication we consider to be right wing.....
Got it.
What if the reporters can't get basic facts correct?

It John Miller of CBS News that broke the Saudi National story that now turns out to be wrong.
Seems like there was a lot of wrong information put out. I heard Police Commissioner Davis say that The JFK library fire was a bomb.
The story that everyone was talking about was that Martin Richards went to hug his father as he finished The Marathon.
Read today that his father did not run the marathon due to a bad back.
I don't think The Post was any worse or any better than most of the news organizations.

Those other news organizations aren't owned by the enemy.
Alma said:I can only think of two ways that the Post comes up with 12 dead:
1. A reporter has a federal/state of Mass source who fed this number
2. The Post suspected it'd be far worse, and 12 was on the low side.
what law? Be specific. Where do facts uncovered in an on going criminal investigation become public information before the conclusion of the investigation?NDJournalist said:YGBFKM said:I've been fascinated by how there really are no details other than the number of dead and injured. It's almost as if authorities made a concerted effort not to tell the media anything regarding the investigation, and given the media's performance in the past decade or so, I can't say I blame them.
I can. It's public information, by law.

Then your standards stink. I don't care what news outlet said it or who owns the paper. There were never 12 people dead. There is no good reason to jump the gun on the number of dead people.
