The Evening Leader in St. Marys, Ohio is looking for a part-time sports writer for our sports department to help cover a couple of state-caliber high school teams.
The stringer will have three to five assignments to cover per week. Knowledge with AP style and photography use is a plus. This is not a full-time position, it is just a part-time position right now.
The Evening Leader is a six-day afternoon paper (Monday-Friday) and a Saturday morning paper. Our circulation is about 5,000 papers and we are located in Auglaize County where we cover St. Marys Memorial, Minster, New Bremen and New Knoxville.
Minster is a state-caliber athletic program in football, cross-country, track and baseball. New Bremen has had a number of regional-qualifying teams in various sports the last few years and we could really use someone with a passion to cover sports to help our team.
The county is roughly 30 minutes from the Indiana-Ohio state line and we are located next to Grand Lake St. Marys.
