Jeremy Irons chews the scenery impressively, Thora Birch ends her own career as quickly as it started, Justin Whalin is the lead because they couldn't get Christian Slater, the bald comic-relief pirate dude from the Pirates of the Caribbean films plays a dwarf, a Wayans brother gets a tragic death scene (music and everything) at the hands of the blue-lipped evil henchman.
It's not even glorious cheese. It's just bad, especially considering how sincere the actors are. The filmmakers probably felt that, a year before Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter hit theaters, they would try to tap the hungry fantasy/swords and sorcery market. Hell, I saw this piece of crap in theaters. With friends.
Anyone else ever seen this movie? And if not, turn on Encore immediately.
