I assume he gets to go free while his appeal is pending. It's quite possible he will be pardoned and never serve a day.

Poor Scooter!

I will grant you that his wife is terrifying, but this just sucks.
Also, he can't be pardoned until he goes to jail so they can;t pardon him while the case is on appeal. At least according to the law, which used to matter some.

John R. Bolton's letter is rich. I'm sure had a big WTF moment when he finished reading that thing.

Dammit. Sorry for ****in with the pictures on here but something weird keeps popping up on this thread from another site, and I thought the pictures may have had something to do with it. But, instead it did nothing to fix it.

there was an image in the first post? I thought he had only posted a link...

I am thinking you just don't want to show up for your first day in Federal Prison with a name tag that says, "Scooter" on it. Just doesn't seem like the right way to start things off. But what do I know about these things?

Scooter should get pardoned, if Clinton's pardon list is used as precedent.

Any of those pardons a result of crimes committed on behalf of the Clinton administration?
Didn't think so.

Almon Glenn Braswell was pardoned of his mail fraud and perjury convictions, even while a federal investigation was underway regarding additional money laundering and tax evasion charges. Braswell and Carlos Vignali each paid approximately $200,000 to Hillary Clinton's brother, Hugh Rodham, to represent their respective cases for clemency. Hugh Rodham returned the payments after they were disclosed to the public. Braswell would later invoke the Fifth Amendment at a Senate Committee hearing in 2001, when questioned about allegations of his having systematically defrauded senior citizens of millions of dollars.

Marc Rich, a fugitive, was pardoned of tax evasion, after clemency pleas from Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, among many other international luminaries. Denise Rich, Marc's former wife, was a close friend of the Clintons and had made substantial donations to both Clinton's library and Hillary's Senate campaign. Several months after her last donation, emails reveal Republican attorney "Scooter" Libby asked her to approach Clinton about pardoning Marc Rich. Clinton agreed to a pardon that required Marc Rich to pay a $100,000,000 fine before he could return to the United States. According to Paul Volcker's independent investigation of Iraqi Oil-for-Food kickback schemes, Marc Rich was a middleman for several suspect Iraqi oil deals involving over 4 million barrels of oil.

Melvin J. Reynolds, a Democratic Congressman from Illinois, who was convicted of bank fraud, 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice, and solicitation of child pornography.

Henry Cisneros

I'd say Bush has open field running to pardon just about anyone, using Clinton as a guide.

I'm sure you could do parse the wisdom of any president's pardons. It seems like they're all a mix of righting wrongs, rewarding cronies and, well, general oddballness. Like what of Clinton pardoning the three guys convicted of odometer rollback? What, was Clinton planning on running a used car lot after office?

Then again, given that George W. Bush's pardon list so far includes some old moonshiners, maybe he's planning to brew up some White Lightning after he leaves the Oval Office.

Why would Clinton's pardon list be used as precedent? Nothing else Clinton did in office was used.

Because Clinton got a blowjob.

For the record it was BILL Clinton that got the blow job. There's no evidence that HILLARY Clinton ever got a blow job in the White House
