The story fails to mention that Brondello is Australian, and "protected species" is a common slang term over there for star athletes (or employees in general) who receives preferential treatment or lenient calls from referees.

Should she have known better? Perhaps. But her background and culture is part of the story, too.

Valkyries flying under the radar while winning their ninth straight tonight.

I took Spartan Jr to that game. It was my first pro basketball game of any kind and his first live sporting event. It was such a great time.

The last 5 minutes of the game were insane. Valks went on a 12-0 run, draining 3s and just shutting down the Mystics. Place was rocking. Little Sparty was going crazy. I have a hoarse voice today.
