Thanks to my laptop air card and Mrs. Bubbler taking a driving shift, I am posting from the front seat of my car.

Just passing I-270 on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. Driving/riding through Columbus is like taking a bath in Clear Pepsi, there's no there there.

West By God (why do they call it that) is 115 miles ahead.

Not that I'm sure Mrs. Bubbler doesn't enjoy the peace and quiet ("Dear God why won't he stop rambling about Wal-Mart and get on that infernal computer of his?") but holy Christ man.

Re: Rolling down I-70 thread ...

The stretch from St. Louis to Indy is mind-numbing.

Re: Rolling down I-70 thread ...

She's happy. She's listening to some God awful country music on my XM. Kids are in the backseat being good.

As for posting, hey, it's no different than reading a book!

By the way, $3.93 for gas in Etna, Ohio. Time to hand my ass to the good folks at Speedway.

Watch out for the traffic between Hagerstown and Frederick, MD. You would not BELIEVE how backed up and slow it can get. As bad as anything closer to DC, I swear to you.

Re: Rolling down I-70 thread ...

If you're headed to Denver, stop in Oakley, Kan., and pay a visit to the world's largest prairie dog. And tease the coyotes and rattlesnakes.

It took me two hours to get from Baltimore to Frederick one time. It should have been 45 minutes, an hour tops.

If he's headed to Denver, I'm pretty sure he's going the wrong direction.

"A tad? A tad, Lloyd? You drove a sixth of the way across the country in the wrong direction."

The mention of Denver and rattlesnakes in the same post has me singing Warren Zevon now.

Actually, I was thinking Mike Shanahan but your train of thought works as well.

The signs in Illinois indicating the Sen. Paul Simon Highway, complete with bow tie, are the highlight of that stretch. Which speaks volumes.

If you see a sign that says, "Welcome to Georgia," I think you've made a wrong turn.
