RIP NBCSN

The WSJ is saying that they plan to migrate a lot of the stuff to the USA Network. But there are no details beyond that yet.

Every time I tune in to NBCSN, it's some damn Mecum Auto Auction. They've been killing it off for a while, it seems.

I'd much rather watch the NHL than watch Mecum's son try to twist another seller's arm to let go of yet another Mustang for its less-than-original reserve price.

I can only hope this doesn't mean that NBC/Comcast is bailing on sports. We know they already have The Golf Channel, so that goes nowhere.

Additionally, the NHL's deal is up, probably a big reason why the league's owners are taking a bath this season to show that they're worthy of a national contract or two South of the Border. It will be interesting to see how this all transpires.

On the plus side, this thread is helping serve ads for Peacock.

NFL rights fees are coming up and NBC pays the lowest amount for the best games, the best window and with flex. That's going to cost a lot more.

They have done an amazing job with the EPL. Hopefully, they will still have robust pre and post game content. Might be it for Men in Blazers though.

This blows goats but if I'm being honest, I tune in NBCSN for EPL and hockey and that's it.

So is Peacock going to keep EPL? Seems like a colossal mistake for the EPL to only be on a streaming service in the US (not that they need the US but potential market growth isn't coming because a few die-hards subscribe).

I'd be shocked if every NBCSN Premier League match didn't end up on USA. I'm guessing there is some sort of contractual clause that ensures that a specific number of matches each week are on basic cable. What I expect will migrate to Peacock is most of the ancillary, non-game EPL programming.

Totally sucks. Love the EPL production. They only have it as of now through the 2021-22 season.

These networks are really something. At a time for of high unemployment and economic uncertainty they’re trying to bleed a few more bucks from customers. Not just NBC, but Disney, ESPN and HBO as well. Ms. BYM2 was a loyal viewer of 90 Day Fiancé but has stopped watching since they’ve moved all of the ancillary pre and post-shows on Discovery+, feeling it’s a horse**** cash grab.

It is shameful.
