Noriega had since said his relationship with the United States soured when he refused to participate in anti-communist efforts spearheaded by the CIA in Central America during the 1980s The CIA has not commented on Noriega's claims.
"You are a good person so long as you say yes. However, once you say no, then you become an evil guy," Noriega recollected in a 1992 interview with CNN.

I originally had "Manuel Noriega is dead." Then I looked up a bio of him to refresh my memory. It looked like he had possibly made peace with the United States over the last few years? Or even apologized for his past?

I had to make a quick call.

Nope. Abortion is banned in Panama except for cases of rape or incest or if the woman's life is in danger, a penal code was set up in 1982 to give prison sentences to both women and doctors if an abortion is performed.

I rather enjoyed the saga of Pineapple Face and the complicity of the U.S. military in creating him. The invasion was kind of Grenada times 10.

When the walls were closing in on him, I was growing up in my conservative Midwestern town where "America GOOD" was by far the prevailing sentiment. Ollie North was a hugely popular patriot there too. Then to be in college and read/hear about the court case ... I guess you could say it helped me Get Woke.
