The unedited versions/outtakes of him doing the lines are pretty interesting. Also, his casting as Darth Vader gave Peter Mayhew his break because he was the only actor Lucas could find that was English, bigger than Prowse and willing to wear the Chewbacca suit.

While the voices of James Earl Jones, Frank Oz and the Chewbacca growls are integral to their characters, Prowse and Mayhew still had to give those characters movement and depth without looking like silent movie characters. They added a convincing performance, unlike say, Mark Hamill.
