Uncle Cliffie. One of the best players to ever come out of Buffalo. He and Bob Lanier had the longest NBA careers.

My wife is a huge Blazers fan and absolutely loved that early 90s team. Three of them gone now. Unbelievable.

Over the course of history, the "also-ran " teams get forgotten by the public at large. But the Blazers teams of those years were fairly interesting-- as were the Suns and Jazz. They never broke through the Lakers dynasty at the top of the West, but they were fun to watch.

If not for Cliff Robinson and Buck Williams it’s possible those teams never sniff higher than a six seed. As it turned out, they won 50 games or more four straight seasons. I’ll go to my grave saying they overlooked Magic and the Lakers in the 1991 western conference finals. That was their year.
